Our Mission:
In New Jersey, there are a lot of programs offering services for our adult autism population. Even so, some areas of desperately needed programming are hard to find, or even non-existent. The lack of programming has become evident for the post 21 autism population, especially as their parents get well into their retirement years. Aging parents are increasingly concerned about their adult children with autism- how can they gain more independence skills?
Autism Community in Christ (“ACC”) was created to address this increasing need! We help ever-increasing numbers of adults on the autism spectrum by providing:
- An Introduction to Faith
- Independence Training
- Continuing Development
Our Vision:
As Autism Community in Christ fulfills its Mission, we will grow and reach more communities.
As our clients’ independence, self-sufficiency, and quality of life increases, abuse and neglect will correspondingly diminish.
We will operate with an incentivized system which promotes from within, and injecting excitement into the program will be rewarded.
Increasingly positive results lead to ever-increasing demand for our program, outgrowing our earlier physical facilities.
Our participants will discover more of their potentials, and begin to realize and develop them.
ACC will be a premier provider, grow our methodology, and expand our offerings to an increasing number of locations.
Our Approach:
Our credentialed and caring instructional staff works hands-on with our clients, interacting with knowledge and experience, creating enrichment on many levels and in many ways. Based on increasing our clients’ awareness of the power of faith in their lives, we help them realize their potentials, better appreciate those around them, and integrate them more meaningfully with the community in which they live. ACC gets our clients excited about life and learning. Most importantly, ACC facilitates the same access to all that life has to offer that everyone else in the community enjoys.
Instead of living apart from the community, our participants take their place in the community. This is a result of receiving caring instruction combined with skills and behavior modelling, which makes better community living possible.
Our Creed
We at Autism Community in Christ believe that ALL people were created with purpose by God, including those on the autism spectrum, and our job is to assure that those on the autism spectrum can access ALL the things that others can, and to better integrate those on the autism spectrum with the rest of the community!
